Veteran Profile - John Osborne

Veteran Profile - John Osborne

Maryville, Mo. - The B2R features Senior John Osborne in today's Veteran Profile. John transferred to Northwest Missouri State in 2015 after two seasons at Maple Woods Community College. John stands 6'4" and weighs 205 lbs. John grew-up in Columbia, Missouri. John is a physical specimen. Built like he could play outside linebacker at Bearcat football stadium and not look out of place. Strong as an Ox. Nice kid. Obviously not a stranger to the weight room. In John's first year at Northwest, he did not get many opportunities to get on the field. In total, John appeared in two games with a win-loss record of 0-1, 13.50 ERA, earned one start, worked 3.1 innings, allowed 9 hits, 5 runs (all earned), 0 walks, 2 strike-outs, 0 wild pitches, hit 2 batters, and did not commit a balk.

So far in 2016, John appeared in one game and worked 0.1 inning, allowed 1 hit and hit 1 batter.

In addition to his strength and size, John is thoughtful and a blue collar guy. B2R hopes he can get more opportunities this season.

Here is John's write-up with bearcatsports.com -

2015
Named to the MIAA Academic honor roll ... appeared in two games, making one start ... pitched 3.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts ... did not allow a walk ... started and went 2.1 innings with two strikeouts at Culver Stockton (March 25) ... worked a scoreless inning with just one hit against Fort Hays State (March 21).

Keep working hard, John. The B2R appreciates you and you are today's featured Veteran.

Go Cats!!
