Thanksgiving Day prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for all of the blessings you've sent;
In all things, give thanks;
So I want to thank you for Bearcat Baseball and the mighty athletes that you brought to Maryville;
Thank you for Papi and Tim Olson;
Thank you for Kevin Handzlik, Cole Otto, and Dane Appel;
Thank you for Logan Moose and Jay Hrdlicka;
Thank you for Jacob Wagner and Nick Howard;
Thank you for Joey Scott, Eddy Kraber, Quentin Van Ackeren, and Joseph Curtis;
Thank you Luke Wilkinson, Aaron Barratt, and Landon Figg;
Thank you for Alec Heebner, Joseph Hietpas, and Ross Davis;
Thank you Brad Roberts, Jimmy McElwain, Luke Hassman, Logan Rycraft, Anthony Ortega, Matt Schingel, Mondesi Gutierrez, Jake Lewis, Max Wilkinson, and Mitchell Worthington;
Thank you for the new guys;
I thank you for Darin Loe and Mike Creason for recruiting and coaching talented baseball players for my alma mater;
Thank you for Joe and Kelly Quinlin for giving us athletes with the power we see on game days;
Thank you for Coach T, Mark Clements, and Lori Hopkins for supporting baseball;
Lord, I want to thank you for Easton and TPX performance bat technology;
Thank you for Rawlings and raised seams;
Thank you for pine tar and batting gloves;
Thank you for sunflower seeds, hot dogs, and bubble gum;
Lord, forgive those that prohibit sunflower seeds in the dugouts or in the stands;
Thank you for home runs, double plays, brush back pitches, and stare downs;
Lord, bless the Bearcat Baseball team - may they dominate the weight room to perform with power and precision this spring worthy of the hallowed grounds of Bearcat Baseball field;
Most importantly Lord, thank you for my family, having the coolest wife on Earth and my boy Alex;

Bearcat baseball releases 2018 schedule


Maryville, Mo. - Your Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat baseball team recently released its 2018 schedule. Northwest will start the season by play 13 of their first 16 games on the road. The 2018 season will also see Northwest playing a bunch of road games to end the season this year, too. 

The Bearcats will start 2018 by traveling to Arkansas and Oklahoma to play nine non-conference games. Northwest then returns to Maryville to play a weekend series against Emporia State before returning to the road for four more games. The Bearcats will play 15 of the next 22 games in the friendly confines of Bearcat baseball field. Northwest will then play 7 of the final 11 regular season games on the road.

In the beginning, the Bearcats will play a 3-game series at Arkansas-Fort Smith, then a single game at Ouachita Baptist University, a fourth game against Arkansas-Fort Smith, a single game at Henderson State, then a 3-game series at Cameron University between February 3 and February 18th. Following those nine games, the Bearcats return home to Maryville to play the conference & home opener against Emporia State on February 23-25. The Bearcats then hit the road the following weekend to play at Fort Hays and a mid-week non-conference game at William Jewell on March 2-6. The Bearcats then return home for a weekend series against Northeastern State and a mid-week non-conference game against William Jewell on March 9-14. Northwest then travels to Lindenwood for a weekend series, to Kearney for a mid-week game, then south to Topeka to play a weekend series against Washburn on March 16-25. 

The second half of the season will begin with Northwest's longest home stretch of their season by returning home to play Missouri Western for a mid-week game, a weekend series against Northern State, followed by a mid-week clash against Nebraska-Kearney, and ending with a weekend series against Central Missouri on March 28-April 7. Northwest then travels to St. Joe to play Missouri Western for a mid-week game but return to Maryville for a weekend series against Pitt State on April 11-15. 

Northwest plays 7 of its final 11 games on the road this season. Following the Pitt State series, Northwest travels to Kearney to play a single mid-week game at Nebraska-Kearney then down to Joplin to play a weekend series at Missouri Southern on April 17-22. The Bearcats final four home games of 2018 will see Northwest return to Maryville following the Missouri Southern series to play Missouri Western in a mid-week game and Southwest Baptist for a weekend series on April 25-29. Northwest concludes the 2018 regular season on the road by traveling to Edmond to play at Central Oklahoma on May 4-6.
