Featured Rookie - Nick Gutzmer
Maryville, Mo. - Today's Featured Rookie is Nick Gutzmer. Nick is a red-shirt freshman from St. Joseph, Missouri. Gutzmer is a proud alum of Central High School. The 6'1" right-hander plays first base and weighs 230 lbs. Nick's first year at Northwest was 2015 where he red-shirted, meaning he did not see game action, and yet made the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Nick is a hard worker and always has a smile on his face. Great teammate. He is battling for playing time at first base against a couple of Juniors in James Holler and Jake Lewis. Nick will continue to develop his hitting and will earn playing time in the future. Nick is one of the good guys in sports. .
