Bearcats sweep Lincoln; Finishes week at 3-1

Bearcats sweep Lincoln, Finishes week at 3-1

Your Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats baseball team experienced both sides of lopsided victories this past week. On Tuesday, March 15, Northwest lost to Quincy University by the score 14-3 in a game that got out of hand in the 6th inning. Then, Northwest upheld its Cardiac Cats mentality and walked-off an extra inning contest on Friday, March 18, versus Lincoln University. Saturday and Sunday resulted in huge lopsided victories for Northwest with a 16-1 final score in Game 2 and a 15-6 final score in Game 3. Speaking of both sides of a spectrum, Game 2 was shortened due to snow and Game 3 was a bright and sunny afternoon. You just have to love weather in Missouri.

With the three-game sweep, Northwest is now in a 3-way tie for 3rd place in the MIAA baseball standings. Interestingly enough, Northwest will travel to Nebraska-Kearney to play UNK who is another ball club in a 3rd place tie with Northwest. Those schedule-makers sure do know what they are doing.
