Northwest changes line-up, uses 9 pitchers, wins 10-3

Your Bearcats scored often and used nine pitchers to beat Rockhurst 10-3 at Bearcat Field on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville on Wednesday.  In addition to the nine pitchers, Northwest used three catchers and two designated hitters in the game.  Your Bearcats starting nine included Brandon Huske, SS, Jon Pomatto, RF, Ryan Abernathy, CF, Eric McLaughlin, DH, Austin Wulff, LF, Steven Garber, 1B, Zack Ferreira, 3B, Blake Hardegree, C, Garrett Fort, 2B, and your starting pitcher was Kole Klocko.

Offensively, your Bearcats scored 10 runs off of 9 hits, 6 RBIs, 8 walks, 9 strike-outs, and left 8 runners on base.  Your offensive stars of the game included:

Ryan Abernathy hit .600 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBIs in the game.













Zack Ferreira hit .667 with a run scored in the game.












Defensively, Northwest was charged with two errors in the game and turned three double-plays.

Next for the Bearcats - Your Bearcats will travel to Topeka this weekend to play a four-game series against Washburn University.  First pitch for game 1 is set for Friday, March 28, 2014, at 4pm.  A Saturday double-header is scheduled for Saturday, March 29, with first pitch set for 1pm.  The fourth and final game of the series is set for Sunday with first pitch set for 1pm.
