SBU wins Game 3 & sweeps series

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist beat Northwest 11-6 on Saturday to win Game 3 and sweep the series. Northwest had a tough series defensively and pitching. Northwest averaged over 5 runs per game in the series but allowed nearly 12 runs per game. Tip your cap to SBU as they figured out Northwest's pitching riddle. To oversimplify the complex act of pitching a baseball, Northwest caught too much of the plate and too high in the zone. Despite the tough series, Northwest is 24-14, 13-12 MIAA which is good for 6th place in the MIAA standings.

Offensively, Ozzie Adams was the most valuable player for Northwest. Ozzie went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI, 1 walk, and scored 2 runs in the game. Luke Hassman went 3 for 5 with 1 RBI on the day. In total, Northwest scored 6 runs off of 11 hits, 6 RBIs, 4 walks, 9 strike-outs, and left 9 runners on base.

Defensively, Northwest committed 4 errors that allowed 3 unearned runs in the game.
