Summer Update - Ben Stedronsky

Summer Update - Ben Stedronsky served as the pitching coach for the St. Joseph Mustangs in the summer of 2012.  The Mustangs are a member of the MINK summer college woodbat league.  A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ben Stedronsky graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School in 2005 where he went on to play at Northwest Missouri State University from 2007-2010. He pitched out of the bullpen for the Bearcats and tallied 53 career appearances, which was 2nd in school history. He graduated from Northwest in the Spring of 2010 with a degree in Corporate Recreation and Wellness. His last summer of playing was spent pitching out of the bullpen for the Mustangs. That year the Mustangs won their first regional championship and also made their first NBC World Series appearance where they finished 4th in the nation. During the 2011 season, Ben was a volunteer assistant back at Lincoln Southwest where his team went 18-2 and won the city title. He was also the bullpen coach for the St. Joseph Mustangs. The team finished 42-12, won the M.I.N.K. league and went 2-2 in the NBC World Series. In 2012, Stedronsky was an assistant coach for the Western Texas College Westerners, where he worked with the outfielders and assisted with the pitchers and hitters. The Westerners placed 4th in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference with an overall record of 27-28 and made their first ever regional appearance in school history.

In the summer of 2012, the St. Joseph Mustangs won the M.I.N.K. North Division by 3.5 games with an overall record of 28-17 under 'Ronsky's expertise.  The Mustangs also won the M.I.N.K. Championship 2 games to 1.  As a staff, the Mustangs had a team ERA of a remarkable 3.31, 28 wins, 17 losses, 6 saves, 266 strike-outs, 143 walks (almost 2-1 strike-out/walk ratio), 142 earned runs allowed, 386.2 innings pitched, 6 complete games, and 373 hits.  The St. Joseph Mustangs finished 5th in the NBC World Series in August 2012.

The B2R is very proud of Ben's accomplishments during his time at Northwest and since graduation.  Ben is making his own opportunities by hard work and proving himself.  A fiery competitor, Ben's talent as a coach has me convinced he is going to be an exemplary head coach one day soon.  Look for great things from Ben Stedronsky - a Bearcat.

Go Cats!!
