Series Preview - Fort Hays State

Series Preview - Fort Hays State

The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats baseball team plays a 2-game double header against Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.  Northwest swept Washburn in Topeka in a mid-week clash last week.  The Bearcats 3-game series against the Central Missouri Mules was cancelled due to weather conditions.  The 'Cats are 4-12, 4-9 MIAA so far in the 2013 NCAA regular season.  The Fort Hays Tigers are 8-7 in 2013 and just finished a weekend series against Emporia State.

The Tigers are a free-swinging offensive bunch.  Hopefully the Bearcats pitching staff can expand the zone and get the Tigers to swing at bad pitches.  It certainly is worth seeing how patient the Tigers will be considering they strike out nearly one time per inning and draw nearly one less walk per game.  The Tigers struggle fielding the ball and the pitching staff has not blown the doors off of anybody.  If the Bearcats pitching and defense can execute, the 'Cats can get out out of Hays with a victory or two.

Go Cats!!
