Comments - To let you know what I think of Cam Bedard:  He is one of two players that I will wear a shirt with his name and number on the back.  He's not family, he's that kind of ballplayer.  Essentially a two-year starter at Northwest in his first two years.  Cam split time at 2B and 3B in 2010, then played every game (or almost every game) at SS in 2011.  Cam was 2nd on the team in Batting, 3rd on the team in on-base percentage amongst everyday players.  Cam improved his batting average 85 points from 2010, improved his slugging % over 100 points from 2010, and improved his on base % 88 points from 2010.  There is a quiet fury presence about him.  He cheers on the guys but is not demonstrative on the field or in the dugout.  He leads by example first.  Blue collar.  Gritty.  He has a passion for baseball.  Coaches rave about him.  Growing up in a baseball family, Cam has command of the nuances of the game.  He has very good mechanics on the field and in the batter's box.  Great clubhouse guy.  Doesn't complain.  Regarding 2012, I have no idea where Cam will play on the field.  He needs to play everyday for Northwest to win.  Statistically, he must improve his fielding percentage so I'm not sure if that means he'll stay at SS like in 2011, or move to 3B or 2B where he experienced his greatest defensive statistics.  You've got to have his bat and his all out hustle on the field.  Look for big things from Cam on the field in 2012 and in life following college.  Great kid.

Go Cats!!
