Travel day is here!!
Maryville, Mo. - Your Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats baseball team will board a bus and head to the great state of Oklahoma today for the season opening series versus Fort Hays State and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.
According to the official website of Northwest Athletics, it appears the Bearcats will play a single 9-inning game against Fort Hays State on Friday, February 3, 2017. First pitch is set for Noon. It looks like the game will not count towards Conference standings. On Saturday, February 4, 2017, Northwest will play a single 9-inning game against Northwestern Oklahoma State. First pitch is set for Noon. On Sunday, February 5, 2017, Northwest will conclude the weekend with a single 9-inning game against Northwestern Oklahoma State. First pitch is set for Noon.
Following this weekend games, Northwest will then travel to Arkansas to play two mid-week games, a game on Friday, and a game on Saturday, then return to Maryville. On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, Northwest will travel to Fort Smith, Arkansas, to play the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in a single 9-inning game. First pitch is set for 2pm. After the game, Northwest will then travel to Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to play a tournament. On Thursday, February 9, 2017, Northwest will play Ouachita Baptist University in a single 9-inning game. First pitch is 1pm. On Friday, February 10, 2017, Northwest will play Henderson State University at 3pm. On Saturday, February 11, 2017, Northwest will play Truman State at Noon.
The B2R is not certain if the season opening game with Fort Hays State on February 3rd will offer live stats or other game day coverage. Stay tuned to bearcatsports.com to see if something develops. The two games against Northwestern Oklahoma State will be broadcasted via live video internet streaming for a fee of approximately $8.00 per game. It also looks like an audio broadcast and live stats will also be available.
