Offensively, Logan Rycraft was your offensive most valuable player for the Bearcat baseball team. A close second was the performance of Ozzie Adams, who went 2 for 3 (including a double) with 1 RBI, 1 walk, and 2 runs scored on the day. Luke Wilkinson went 1 for 2 (a double) with with 1 walk in the game. Garrett Fort went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI, and 1 run scored on the day. Landon Figg went 1 for 4 (a double) in the game. Defensively, Northwest was charged with 1 error in the game.
Pitching, Joseph Hietpas continued his MIAA Pitcher of the Year caliber season with a 9-inning complete game victory. With the win, Hietpas' record advanced to 2-1 on the year. In total, Hietpas worked 9.0 innings, allowed only 2 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 8 strike-outs, and hit 1 batter. The 9-inning game took a mere 2 hours and 8 minutes to complete due to Joe's shut-out performance.

Next for Northwest - The Bearcats will play Games 2 and 3 against Washburn in Topeka in a double-header on Friday, March 10, 2017. First pitch for Game 2 is set for 2pm. First pitch for Game 3 is set for approximately 5pm.
