Recruit Profile - James Holler

James Holler enters Northwest Missouri State University as a freshman during the 2012-2013 academic year.  James projects out as a catcher or infielder.  He stands 6'3" and weighs 185 pounds and is from St. Robert, Missouri, after graduating from Waynesville High School.

In 2012, James played in 26 games for Waynesville, earned a .444 batting average, slugging percentage was .642, and had an on-base percentage of .553.  James scored 23 runs, earned 36 hits, 7 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run, 22 RBIs, was hit by a pitch 3 times, earned 18 walks while only striking out 5 times, and was perfect 3 for 3 in stolen bases.  James was named team MVP his sophomore and junior years.  He was named All-District and Academic All-State his junior year.  He was also selected as Third Team All-State as a Quarterback.  His high school awards are notable and distinguished:

2012 - Team Offensive Player of the Year

2012 - Academic All Conference Honorable Mention
2012 - All Conference - 1st Team - Catcher

According to the St. Joseph Post, Northwest Missouri State University Head Coach Darin Loe said this about James:

"James is a 6’3” kid that has a lot of room to get stronger and faster.  He has the ability to play several positions defensively and has outstanding athleticism, good speed and a strong arm.  As a hitter, James has the ability to be a difference-maker from the left handed side of the plate.”
