Derek Meyer is entering Northwest Missouri State University as a freshman in the 2012-2013 academic year. Derek is a 5'8" 160 pounds baseball player projected as either a catcher or infielder from Lincoln, Nebraska. Derek graduated from Lincoln St. Pius X High School. In 2012, St. Pius X won the State of Nebraska Class B-2 District Championship and Nebraska State Championship.
Derek bats right-handed and throws right-handed.
According to the St. Joseph Post, Northwest Missouri State University Head Coach Darin Loe made these comments about Derek:
"Derek is one of the hardest-working players on the field we have seen at the high school level. He is a very intelligent player that has a strong and accurate arm, good speed and the ability to do all the little things that help us win games.”
